Just when you thought you'd seen every kind of documentary going.
Say a big, terrified hello to the horror documentary.
While it's just missed out on Halloween, Bravo's latest import should insure that you keep the unnerving chill-fest going strong. 1,000 Ways To Die is a morbidly fascinating look into the myriad, Final Destination-esque ways that we can meet our makers.
Bizarre, obscure deaths are mixed with those once-thought-irrational demises we all tend to terrify ourselves with, and this opening episode features six ways to pass away including by reptile, insects or - cheerfully - a race car crash.
Leading experts are consulted and interviewed to talk about the science behind each brain-splitting, bone-crunching croak, and the final case of each episode shows actual footage of dangerous situations that almost ended in death, along with CGI constructions of people's last moments.
Appropriately, 1,000 Ways To Die is like the great beyond itself. While it's fascinating and just a little scary, it's best not to spend too long obsessing over it or you'll miss out on all the great stuff life has to offer.
