Moany Mona's luck finally ran out this week, with Sir Alan slamming her 'lack of creativity'.
We collared Mona to find out her thoughts on the surviving contestants and why she gave up the fight.
Do you think Sir Alan made the right decision?
Yes and no. Yes because my heart just wasn’t in it anymore. I think that became really transparent and I really missed my little boy.
If it were based on the task, on the performance, then definitely it was the wrong decision and I think James really should have gone.
You said how your heart wasn’t in it. Do you think there was a turning point?
Yeah, I think it was a couple of days or a week before that task. I just thought I have to get out. I mean, I’m on my own in this country. I’m just trying to make an honest living. I could take the easy way out and live on the state, which would be perfect; I’m a single mum, I could get everything for free. But I didn’t want to do that as I want my son to look up to me like I’m a role model.
How was it heading back to Kent for your task?
You know, that was the turning point right there - driving past the M20 junction that led back to home. I wanted to get out there, I wanted to jump out the window. I just thought "I want go home".
What did you think of the allegations that you were homophobic in this week’s task?
I think someone’s got their facts totally wrong. I’m not homophobic, I’ve got gay and lesbian friends. In fact the best party nights I have are with my gay friends in Brighton. They all know my son. They’ve come to one of his parties so I don’t know where people have got their facts wrong. They just ran out of things to say.
Did you agree with Sir Alan’s assessment that you’re not creative enough?
Absolutely. At no time have I ever claimed to be a creative person! The whole reason I signed up was to put myself out of my comfort zone. I put my hands up – I’m just not creative.
Were you surprised by what the other contestants said about you behind your back?
No, not really. Everyone has their opinion. If you weren’t recording me right now I could certainly give you a few of my opinions on each and every person!
Who do you want to win and who do you think will win?
Who I don’t want to win is Ben. I’m absolutely humiliated that I was kicked off before him. I think that’s appalling. It’s tough to say who’s going to win. On a personal level, I like Yasmina. She’s my friend and I hope she does it for the girls.
