Phillip TaylorPhillip TaylorYou may have become accustomed to our weekly witty, investigative and engaging interviews with each fired Apprentice.

But it appears Phil ‘Pantsman’ Taylor can only find time for one exclusive interview following his firing.

So even the slightest cynic might therefore assume that his ‘romance’ was pretty much a scam to ensure big bucks and ‘exclusive’ interviews a-plenty for his inevitable post-Apprentice life.

Thankfully we here at TV Towers like to believe in the honesty, integrity and professionalism of our fellow man, so instead of our usual interview, here’s a look back at events in his last show.

We’ll really really miss you Phil.

After the hilarious task in the North of England, both teams returned to London for the usual boardroom showdown with Sir Alan. Predictably, he furrowed his brow to near-biblical proportions and immediately ploughed into both teams’ product choices and noticeable lack of actual sales, despite the meetings he had set up for them.

But The Apprentice is nothing if not a game about numbers, and Empire demolished Ignite’s sales figures. Empire recorded sales of £4501 for its ‘Lover’s Lead’ and ‘Silk Suit’ products, over triple that of Ignite’s sales of ‘P.O.D’ and the ‘Cat Playhouse’ which stood at £1300.

So while Empire swanned off on a VIP helicopter ride around London - probably downtime for the one that filmed the aerial shots shown every week - the stragglers began preparing their backstabbing tactics. Phil commented that Sir Alan: “[He's] going to fire Lorraine. She blew it; it’s as simple as that.”

Back in the boardroom, Phil and Lorraine soon sparked up their decades-long (well it feels like it) feud surrounding the noticeable lack of sales on the team.

Perfecting the art of ‘foot in mouth’, Phil then moaned that Sir Alan was simply too hard to please and that his continually stellar performances are routinely met with criticism from the big man. To which Sir Alan right hand man Nick rather brilliantly said: “Tell us about Pants Man.”

Game, set and match.

To make matters worse, Lorraine then brought up Phil and Kate’s completely genuine romance and noted that their close ‘friendship’ had an impact on the team’s performance.

But at the end of the day, it doesn’t seem to have affected Sir Alan’s decision. Turning to Philip, he pointed out that his fiery nature, attitude and bravado are unlikely to gel with his other workers.

“So Philip – You’re Fired!”
