Man-mountain Brian Blessed is being lined-up as a contestant for this year’s I’m A Celebrity. Brilliant!

ITV bosses are apparently desperate to get the booming voiced star in the jungle.

Brain had been approached to take part in Hell’s Kitchen 2009 but thought there’d be too much of a clash between him and fiery chef Marco Pierre White, so channel bosses are hoping he’ll take up this offer.

An ITV insider told The Star: “Can you imagine Brian in the jungle? He would be TV gold.”

We have to agree.

Brian is no stranger to adventures. Aged 17 he climbed Mount Blanc. He’s conquered Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Aconcagua in Argentina and has attempted Everest three times.

The actor, now 71, is also the oldest person to trek on foot to the magnetic North Pole.

Fingers crossed; later this year the Aussie outback will be reverberating to the cry: “Tucker’s aliiiiive!”
