It's the date we've all been waiting for, yes tonight is the night when the weird and wonderful housemates enter the Big Brother house.

So who's in the house then?

16 wannabee's will entertain the nation for the next 13 weeks.

This year's house is the biggest one yet and the housemates will have access to a host of luxury rooms, but they could also end up in dormitory style bedrooms with scratchy blankets and thin mattresses.

As ever the contestants are a mixed bag; included, there's a blind man, a Buddhist and a strict Muslim, a person who claims to have never watched the show, a man who is already loaded and rocks up wearing a £13,000 watch, the obligatory totty with a boob job, a 42 year old who is the oldest in the house.

Three of the housemates are parents and one person has been kicked out of the US version of BB for being a troublemaker. Just your average bunch then.

Executive producer Phil Edgar-Jones said, "The joy of Big Brother is not what we do but what they do. We're trying to do things to create a mix of people that would never normally share a room. That's what we're excited about, seeing how they react together."

The show may be suffering from fatigue, but the first night is still worth a watch.
