Black Widow Granny: Betty NeumarDid Betty Neumar really kill all five of her husbands? The talk of the US for the past year has revolved around pensioner Betty Neumar.

Is she a loveable granny who has been the victim of a smear campaign, or did she really murder all five of her husbands?

That's the question that has been bugging Al Gentry, who has spent the past 22 years trying to prove that his brother Harold was killed by Betty.

It was last year that Betty, 78, was arrested for Harold's murder, opening a can or worms.

Once the investigations began, it emerged that all five of Betty's husbands had died in suspicious circumstances.

Three had been shot, while Harold and one other hubby are alleged to have died from 'natural causes', except those causes related very closely to death by arsenic poisoning.

This documentary, made by acclaimed director Norman Hull, tries to shed some light on the case and find out more about the women the US media dubbed 'The Black Widow'.

He speaks to the surviving relatives of the deceased husbands and her children. Even Betty herself speaks out in her own defence.

Betty was charged with solicitation to murder Harold Gentry but as the trial approaches, Norman shows the trail of destruction and broken lives that the investigation has left in its wake.
