Edie Britt is our favourite Desperate Housewife for many reasons.
So we're upset to hear the news that Nicolette Sheridan has decided to quit Wisteria Lane.
The actress has confirmed she'll be leaving the show at the end of season five.
No details about her exit storyline have been released. However, her representative claimed that her final episodes would not air in the US "until April".
"She had a great time on the show and is looking forward to her next project," her rep told People.
But rumours are already circulating that her character will be killed in an unusual accident involving her car and an electrical wire after she finds out her latest husband Dave Williams (Neal McDonough) is trying to kill her.
This will be the second time Edie has left the show. At the end of season four she was forced out of Wisteria Lane by her female neighbours after trying to blackmail Bree Hodge (Marcia Cross).
As the resident man-eater in the fictional town of Fairview, Edie regularly clashed with her neighbours due to her frequent male callers and her scantily-clad outfits.
With two failed marriages behind her, Edie went on to snare the ex-husbands of some of her neighbours.
