It looks like Coronation Street baddie David Platt is about to get his comeuppance.
TV Towers hears rumours of a 'whodunnit' on the street after the teen delinquent is bludgeoned in a back alley by a mystery attacker.
A storyline to be aired later this summer will see Street bad boy David (Jack P Shepherd) left bleeding and unconscious - but having made so many enemies, police won't know where to start when hunting for his assailant.
The main suspects in the attack are said to be love rival Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas), ex-girlfriend Tina McIntyre (Michelle Kegan), his mum's boyfriend Joe McIntyre (Reece Dinsdale) and Len Windass (Conor Ryan) - who could be out for revenge after David landed his nephew in jail.
Jason and Joe will both have run-ins with David before the attack, and without alibis they will be prime suspects for Weatherfield's finest.
On the day of the attack, Jason calls David a "sick little weirdo" and pins him against a wall, threatening: "Maybe I should teach you a lesson you'll never forget."
Depressive Joe is equally hellbent on revenge after David encourages his mum to dump him, leaving him wit no home and no money.
Even ex-girlfriend Tina is in the frame due to a lack of alibi.
A show insider told The Sun: "David's assailant will be kept a closely-guarded secret.
"Apart from Joe and Jason, Len could very well be the violent attacker or Tina may just have had enough of David's antics. or could it be someone else?"
