Dannii would have quit if the format stayed the sameDannii Minogue has revealed that she planned to quit The X Factor.

The show judge said she told bosses that she would walk if the format didn’t change.

Speaking to Heat magazine, Dannii spoke about how unhappy she was with the past two years’ audition format: “I think I was really misrepresented. Because the auditions were all closed-off shows, they can be edited in a very certain way.

“Plus, Louis gave me a hard time and that carried on backstage… This year it’s much more real and accessible and it’s giving people the chance to get to know the real me.”

Last year’s rows between Louis and Dannii were well publicised, culminating with Louis making Dannii cry when they were live on air.

The Aussie poppet said: “I could have strangled him last year! I couldn’t stand to be around him. And him with me.”

But this year, there’s love, not war, in the air: “There’s this whole different side to him that I didn’t know about. I think once you know that, if any issue comes up again you know how to deal with it.”

Despite last weekend’s ill judged remarks we do like a story with a happy ending.
