Cast OffsCast Offs: Disabled Cast Play For LaughsDisabled actors will feature in a new spoof reality show for Channel 4.

Cast Offs, which pastiches shows like Castaway, features six people with different disabilities fending for themselves on a desert island.

It stars blind Tim Gebbels, deaf Sophie Woolley, Victoria Wright who suffers from cherubism, thalidomide-affected Mat Fraser, Kiruna Stamell who has dwarfism and paraplegic Peter Mitchell.

Actress Victoria said: “This is not something that’s really been seen before, showing us as adults who drink, swear and have sex.”

Writer Jack Thorne, one of two disabled writers working on the show, promised: “There is a lot of bonking that is quite different from what you would expect. But it’s not a freak show and not a shock doc.”

The comedy will also show the actors moaning about able-bodied actors playing disabled parts. One declares: “Spacking up is the blacking up of the 21st century.”

The series runs for six episodes, each telling the story from a different characters perspective, from November 24.
