It sounds like Doctor Who bosses have come up with a cunning plan.
They've recruited Blackadder creator Richard Curtis to pen a special episode for the show's fifth series.
And if the latest rumours to hit TV Towers are true, Matt Smith's eleventh Doctor could face off against Richard's legendary comedy creation, Sir Edmund Blackadder played by Rowan Atkinson.
Richard has been sworn to secrecy about the plot, but told The Sun: "There will be a monster. And a famous historical figure will battle the monster."
Richard admitted that working on the BBC's popular sci fi show gives him a chance to indulge a long-time fascination. "I am very interested in time travel for some reason or another," he said. "It's tremendously good fun."
Doctor Who series five will be broadcast in Spring 2010.
