Four new characters are set to walk into Walford but not onto TV screens.
EastEnders is launching a spin off series and it’s an online exclusive.
Four trouble-in-trainers teens, “each searching for an escape from their regular lives” will star in a web show called E20. The 13 episode series will show Walford through strangers’ eyes and will include cameos from stalwart characters like Dot Cotton (June Brown) and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).
The series has been written by 13 Londoners, aged from 17 – 22, who won a BBC writing competition.
EastEnders executive producer Diederick Santer said: “These talented writers are creating a whole new Walford, infused with their own experiences of London life.
A fresh perspective on a British classic, EastEnders: E20 will – I hope – delight new audiences and EastEnders diehards alike."
The first episode will hit computer screens in January 2010 and will run up to EastEnders’ 25th anniversary episode on February 19th.
That special live anniversary episode will reveal who killed Archie Mitchell.
