Look out Albert Square, Kat’s back!
Jessie Wallace has said she’d love to walk back into Walford, and the BBC is backing her up.
An EastEnders spokesman told us: “Jessie is very excited about playing Kat again. She’s been off screen for a few years and a lot has happened since she was last in the show.
“She feels the time is right for a return and says she can’t wait to get back into the Square and stuck into some meaty storylines.”
Jessie shot to fame as Kat, the tart-with-a-heart Slater sister, and won numerous awards for her portrayal. A comeback for Kat could tie-in with Shane Ritchie, who played her on screen hubby, Alfie Moon, returning too.
In other EastEnders news, as well as all the comebacks, occasionally a new character moves into the Square, albeit one with a familiar face.
Shilpa Shetty, Bollywood actress and Celebrity Big Brother winner, is in talks about a role. She was offered a part in 2007 after her CBB win, but turned it down to concentrate on her film career.
But the allure of the East End has proved too much, and her agent Max Clifford, now states that he wants her to become a familiar face on British TV.
And what better way than a role in one of our favourite soaps?
Golly, it’s all go in Walford isn’t it?
