Emmerdale actor Luke Tittensor, who plays Daz Eden, has been sacked after attacking another teenager.
The soap star admitted charges of GBH last month and is awaiting sentencing.
Luke fractured a 16-year-old’s jaw during a brawl in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. The unnamed attack victim was left needing reconstructive surgery.
Emmerdale bosses said yesterday they had no alternative other than to axe Luke's character.
AN ITV spokesman said: "As Luke has pleaded guilty to the serious charge of GBH and we cannot condone criminal behaviour, we have met with Luke and his agent to explain that his contract with Emmerdale will be terminated.
"Luke regrets his behaviour and understands this situation."
Emmerdale bosses had temporarily written Luke out of the soap so that he could concentrate on the court case. The move will now be made permanent.
He will be seen for the last time in the Dales on Friday when half-brother Andy throws him out after discovering his affair with step-sister Victoria.
