Paul Gascoigne has been dumped from I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!
Show bosses deemed the soccer legend mentally unfit to appear in the show.
We reported last month that Gazza was set to go Down Under and trying to stay off the booze.
But in the light of Susan Boyle's 'emotional breakdown', where the pressure of appearing on Britain's Got Talent led to the Scottish singer being admitted to the Priory, ITV bosses have decided not to put Paul in the jungle.
Gazza, 42, has long suffered with alcohol problems. An insider told the Sun: "Paul Gascoigne was given a psychiatric test to see how he was, but he failed it. It was such a shame considering bosses had been trying to get him on the show for years."
The former England player told the Sun in May: "I'm feeling great. Everything’s going really well."
But things have taken a rapid turn for the worse. Gazza's new girlfriend Emma Dawson, 21, revealed how Paul phoned her during a boozy session and said: "I'm going to kill myself."
Emma reckons that Gazza needs serious help, not more publicity. She said: "I don't actually believe he actually wants to die, he's just crying out for help. He needs sectioning again before it's too late."
Bosses are now in talks with other ex-footy players to try and find a replacement.
