McFly's Tom Fletcher and Justin BrayMcFly'sTom Fletcher and Justin BurtonHollyoaks is having a rock moment.

Pop hotties McFly have just filmed a cameo for the soap and a new rock star character is about to set waves through Chester.

The boyband made a flying visit to Liverpool to film their scenes for a top secret plot line. They follow in the footsteps of The Saturdays who appeared in spin-off show Hollyoaks Later last year.

The appearance conveniently comes just before the foursome embark on their Up Close... And This Time It's Personal tour.

Bands seem to be the theme du jour in Hollyoaks, as we'll see in coming weeks with brothers Rhys and Josh Ashworth forming a new band called The Somethings.

But with Rhys more concerned with chasing skirt than writing chords, it's not going to be an easy ride.  Liam and Noel Gallagher have nothing on these two.

However, Rhys is potentially going to face stiff competition as a new character called Stav is set to cause havoc with Chester's female population.

He'll play a gig at HCC in the coming weeks, but his mission is to notch up the babes.

A show insider told the Sun: "Stav will be like a kid let loose in a sexual sweetshop. He will be around 25, hunky and sex-crazy."

Sounds like a charmer.

Sadly this new addition isn't enough to beef up the sexual activity in Chester, the show just missed out to Emmerdale on that front. Whoever said the country was boring?
