Simon WebbeSimon WebbeAnyone who saw last night's show would have been rubbing their hands with glee.

Forget the rain, the atmosphere is now positively stormy thanks to newbies David Van Day and Timmy Mallett.

The boys certainly made an inpact, and with so many egos in such a confined space that spells a recipe for some brilliant telly.

David Gives His Dollar's Worth

David hasn't been in camp long and he's already ruffling feathers. He launched an attack on the group for not rescuing him and Timmy on their first night but conceded: "They're celebrities. It's all me, me, me, me, me."

He got Simon Webbe ranting at him after he demanded one of the original campers give up their beds for him and after he refused to sleep in a cave.

An angry Simon ranted: Martina volunteered to go down there and I did.  You refused to see the cave. Don't come in here and tell me it's my ego."

David Van DayDavid Van DayDavid certainly fits the bill of someone who doesn't seem to love jungle life so far. He's said: " I don't like heights, I don't like jungles, I don't like creepy crawlies, I don't like uncooked food, I don't like being left alone in the dark, I'm not a great swimmer, I hate mud."

Righty-ho Dave, so it begs the question: Why the heck are you doing the show?  Either he is being paid an awful amount or he's just up for some torture. Either way us viewers will sure get the net benefit.

Watch a video of the guy's introduction to the show here.

"I think it will be a terrific adventure.  I guess you sort of show off, and hopefully you will get through it. Half the time I don't know who I am anyway so it's a way of finding myself, somewhere in the dunny."

It's not only himself he'll be finding - the ex-Dollar star is looking for love. "I'm single, and I'm ready for love." Run, girls run!

Unfortunately, we reckon love is the last thing he'll be finding as he's  made himself an enemy of the group.

Timmy fares slightly better than pal Dave in the popularity stakes.

One thing that will drive everybody nuts is his laugh. It's enough to annoy hyenas, so gawd knows how the other campers will cope.  And it didn't go down well when Kilroy was doing the live Bushtucker Trial. Let's see how funny he finds it when he has a load of cockroaches dumped on his head.

Timmy is already warning the camp that he has a big appetite, and woe betide anyone who gets in the way of him and his, er, chocolate biscuits.

"I'm a man who likes his chocolate biscuits and when I get hungry I get hungry NOW. I get incredibly crabby.  I'm extremely, extremely crabby when I'm hungry."  Forget choc biscuits Tim, you'll more likely to be munching on croc biscuits.

Looks like Timmy's sugar fix is about to come to an abrupt end, but rest assured, he might not be going as la la as he could be if there was a full moon.

So what preparation did Timmy do when he knew he was going into the jungle? " The first thing I did was the check when the full moons were. The very good news is that we don't have a full moon while we are away."

"About three or four days beforehand people go absolutely barking mad. Everyone goes nuts ."

We can only be grateful there wasn't a full moon for the duration of the show or it might be taken off air.

Robert Has Star Quality
Kilroy has certainly stepped up his game, and even though he's still obnoxious we definitely admire his courage.

The man triumphed in the John T-Revolting task where he had an array of critters surrounding his body parts for 10 minutes. Eurgh!

But he really showed his mettle in the live trial. OMG. We were practically screaming! Rowing through a load of massive spiders web and putting you face into a tank of rats. Boy, the group must be hungry.

We reckon that as Silksky is becoming so good at these task, the public could vote for him again and again. Let's hopes so.

Then again, there may not be people to vote for if the torrential rain continues.  A severe weather warning was issued for the area, so the contestants were moved to the Bush Telegraph for some respite whilst the storm passed.

Producers hope that the storms won't ruin the show. Bushtucker expert Chris Lore said: We had so much big stuff that we were due to launch the show with. But we had to reschedule because of the weather."

A spokeswoman told the Daily Star: We always have contingency plans. The safety of the celebrities and our crew is the priority."
