Ben Miller (James Lester)Ben Miller (James Lester)This week, the Primeval team tackle a terrifying Camouflage creature and are confronted by maverick policeman Danny Quinn (Jason Flemyng).

We caught up with Ben Miller to find out how he's coping with working alongside his missus.

How is Lester coping after the death of Stephen Hart?
Well he sees that they are hurting and pushes them on. He truly believes that work is the best tonic. And while he's not one for hearts and flowers he sees that something needs to be done to try and protect them and so he appoints a new head of security in the form of Captain Becker.

Is he softening towards the team?
It's a bit of both. He's  like one of those teachers who when he first comes in the classroom, gives everyone a right drubbing to establish who is in charge and who everyone hates. But then, over time, you slowly get to like them because while they initially give you no ground, the more they see you work, the more they come to respect you.

It's the same with Lester who is, in his own uptight way, starting to give little things back. There is quite a sweet side to Lester, there has always been, but he is just not very keen to show it. And he covers it up with sharp put downs and snide remarks. But let's be honest, he's not kidding anyone. The team know he respects them and they respond to that.

Your wife, Belinda Stewart-Wilson, has joined the cast as Christine Johnson. How was it working with her?
Christine Johnson, who is an old arch-enemy of Lester, comes back and challenges him for control of the ARC. She's his nemesis essentially. Christine is even more powerful and devious than Lester and in her, he truly meets his match.

Essentially Christine is my boss, so I couldn't get away from it at home or at work. Belinda was in charge of me wherever I went! We both felt it would be easy playing lovers in something and that playing enemies would be really, really fun. And it was.

How have fans reacted to you?
It's great, I just love it; you can see kids pointing and saying 'It's that nasty man from Primeval.' I like it though because they've got a great take on him. Kids totally get he's the sort of baddy you're allowed to love and care about because he's actually one of the good guys who's just masquerading as a bad guy.
