Sharon Backs X Factor Judge

The rumour mill has been working overtime since Mrs O left The X Factor.

This morning, Sharon told Radio 1's Chris Moyles which candidate she's supporting to replace her.

The former judge confirmed that producers had approached both Cheryl Cole and Mel B to fill her spot at the judging table, and backed Cheryl to get the job.

Commenting on her reasons for leaving the show, Sharon said; "I think it's just time to move on. I love the show, I love everybody there. But it's just time to move on."

Sharon also denied that money was a factor; "We were negotiating and they offered me an obscene amount of money. It didn't change anything. I had to walk away when I did."

Rumours that Lulu, Charlotte Church and American Idol judge Paula Abdul have also been approached to fill Sharon's shoes are unconfirmed.

ITV is expected to officially announce who'll complete the judging line-up later this week, when filming and auditions for the new series begin.
