Suranne Jones is to star in a new ITV Thriller.
The former Coronation Street actress will play Ruth Slater in three-part series, Unforgiven, for ITV1.
The drama begins as Suranne’s character is released from prison after serving 15 years for the murder of two policemen.
As she begins her new life on the outside with her boyfriend (Two Pints Of Lager's Will Mellor) her future happiness is threatened.
Outraged to hear that the woman who killed their father has been released, Kieran (Jack Deam) and Steve Whelan (Matthew McNulty) are eager to seek revenge.
With her past threatening her new life, Ruth is forced to face up to other, more disastrous consequences.
Filming is well underway in West Yorkshire and Unforgiven writer Sally Wainwright says: “It’s quite a dark piece for me, but not without its lighter, warmer moments. I am delighted with the cast."
