Profile: Teri Hatcher

Best known for her roles as Lois Lane in Superman and Susan Mayer in Desperate Housewives, it's the turn of actress Teri Hatcher to get the Bio treatment.

We've got to admit that we've got a soft spot for actress Teri.

Born in California, she managed to carve out a reputable career in TV and film, but it hasn't always been plain sailing.

In 2006, she revealed to US magazine Vanity Fair that she had been abused by her uncle Shaun from the age of five.

She later testified against him when it was discovered that he had abused other girls and he served six years in prison before he died of cancer.

Her career hit the skids when Lois & Clark was cancelled. Teri was left in the Hollywood doldrums bringing up her daughter Emerson single-handedly, it was the calling of Desperate Housewives that got her career back on track and put her back in the spotlight.
