The Execution of Gary GlitterThe Execution of Gary GlitterThe death penalty is back – who should be the first against the wall?

Rapists, murderers, child abusers?

Set in an imaginary Britain, The Execution of Gary Glitter examines what would happen if capital punishment came back, something polls suggest the majority of citizens want in real life.

The first person to be condemned to death since 1969 is convicted child abuser Gary Glitter aka Paul Gadd under the newly introduced Crimes Against Children Act.

Filmed like a documentary the show weaves fact and fiction including appearances from Miranda Sawyer, Anne Widdecombe and Gary Bushnell, making it even more disturbing.

There are harrowing scenes of human rights protestors clashing with pro-capital punishment crowds and it’s all rather grim, albeit brilliantly acted.

Compelling viewing that will leave you thinking.
