The Britain's Got Talent star and US overnight sensation is set to join the cast of Ugly Betty.

In the wake of her YouTube-melting audition and the sudden attention of the global media, an initially frumpy Susan Boyle emerged from her home into the full glare of the showiz spotlight with trimmed eyebrows, a stylish wardrobe and a decidedly coiffed hairdo.

While the makeover didn't win her the talent show, her worldwide fame was guaranteed, and it's no surprise to hear that chiefs at Ugly Betty are planning to nab her for a cameo.

The Sun quotes a source close to the programme as saying: "Susan has been bombarded with offers of work in America, but this is something she is really keen on and we hope to make happen.

"She will definitely play herself."

Ugly Betty follows the trials and tribulations of a hairy-eyebrowed, adorable wannabe at one of New York's fashion magazines.

If SuBo does appear, she'll be squeezing into the shoes and hemline of other celebrity guest stars, including Victoria Beckham, Lindsay Lohan and Naomi Campbell.
