The media world is positively buzzing with the latest news from Camp Cowell.
The announcement of a new joint multi-billion pound TV business is rumoured to spell the end of his judging days.
It was announced yesterday that the head of Topshop, Sir Philip Green, and everyone's favourite TV panel judge we love to hate, Simon Cowell, are joining forces to launch a TV project that could be 'bigger than Disney'.
Cowell will focus on developing format ideas for new TV shows, while Green will take control of the business and financial side.
Yet with so many commitments already, it's looking increasingly likely that Simon will have to give up hosting duties on one, if not all, of his shows. But which will it be?
Britain's Got Talent, The X Factor or American Idol?
There have been murmurs for a while that Simon was thinking of packing up his acerbic putdown duties, and as recently as May he expressed his exasperation with the thought of having to judge American Idol for another five years, telling the Hollywood Reporter: "I'd go nuts, bored out of my mind."
And that's not all! Back in December of last year, Simon told Live magazine that he was seriously considering giving up panel duties on The X Factor as his schedule is continually chock-full of commitments and the endless USA-UK private, luxurious jet commute was just unbearable.
We'd dare him to spend a week on the tube in the summertime and then see what he thinks.
Whatever happens, it seems the signs are consistently pointing to an imminent end to at least part of Simon's ubiquitous reality TV reign.
We contacted his publicist Max Clifford who was unavailable for comment.
