There’s a whole lotta love to kick off the blog this week.
Don’t worry, we’re not about to get all X-rated on you, we’re talking about Rachel Adedeji’s love for Dannii Minogue.
Speaking on the Kiss 100 Breakfast Show this week, Rachel claimed that Dannii was the best mentor to have and the only one who’s in regular contact with her potential protégés.
Rachel said: “Secretly, everyone wants Dannii (as their judge).
“Everyone goes 'we just got a text from Dannii' and everyone else is like 'whoa, what about our mentors?!’
“As well as being a mentor, Dannii's a friend and I think that's what the other contestants need.”
Rachel said even Mr X himself keeps his group at arms’ length: “I have asked the over 25s 'how's Simon' and they're like 'we don't know until we're standing on stage'.”
We’d assumed that mentors mollycoddled their embryonic music stars all the live long day.
We’re so naive. Sigh.
Rikki Blames Cheryl
Last week’s X Factor reject, Rikki Loney, has blamed his booting from the show on his mentor Cheryl Cole.
The young Scot said he thought his song choice, Respect, was wrong and he was advised to drop it by diva Whitney Houston. He told The Sun: "I should have listened to Whitney. They advised me to change.
"I'd have liked to, but there just wasn't any time. It was literally 24 hours before the performance.
"I couldn't do it. Too much work had gone on - days had been spent working out the routine."
Simon Cowell has blasted Cheryl for not “properly understanding” another of her acts, Lloyd Daniels. Could it be that Cheryl’s X reign is over?
Boyzone On X?
Boyzone could be singing on The X Factor in their first time on stage since band member Stephen Gately’s death.
The performance would be in tribute to Stephen who loved the show and was set to appear as a host with Louis Walsh later in the series.
We hear that bosses are holding off approaching the remaining band members, Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, Keith Duffy and Shane Lynch until they’ve discussed it with Louis, the original manager of Boyzone.
A source told the Daily Mirror: “Stephen was a very close friend of the ITV show.
“During a production meeting they were discussing ideas for guest performers. Boyzone were mentioned as an obvious choice.
“Everyone is painfully aware they need to be sensitive, so they have held back on a formal approach until they speak to Louis.
“But the huge outpouring of grief is hard to ignore. It would be a very emotional night for everyone – there wouldn’t be a dry eye.”
The source added: “The boys would have to decide whether they could hold it together.”
The Brothers Grim
And finally, we can hardly believe it but the odds of John and Edward winning The X Factor have shortened after their murdering - sorry, performing - Oops I Did It Again last Saturday.
Sky Bet received a rush of bets with people putting a punt of the Scottish twins winning the talent show. Odds have fallen from 66/1 to 40/1 with some deluded souls even believing they could hit the Christmas number one spot.
Sky Bet’s X Factor expert Helen Jacob said: “Unbelievably, the Grimes brothers have been the best backed X Factor contenders this week. They are receiving millions of hits on YouTube and look likely to hang about in the competition for a few weeks yet.
“The prospect of the ‘Brothers Grim’ being Christmas number one just doesn’t bear thinking about, but if Mr Blobby and Bob the Builder can do it, then maybe they can too!”
If you fancy putting your hard earned pennies on the Grimes brothers you can visit Sky Bet here.
But really, come on.
