We can hardly believe we’re typing this but X Factor twins, John and Edward, are the public’s favourite to win.
The terrible two got the most votes to stay in the show on Saturday night.
ITV insiders are reeling in shock at their popularity and it’s feared if they do win it’ll make a mockery of the ‘talent’ show.
A show source told The Sun: “It is extraordinary. John and Edward were miles ahead of any other act.
"Whoever wins the X Factor, you can usually guarantee they can sing. If John and Edward win, it will no longer be a show about great singers – it could be disastrous.
"But you know what? It could happen.”
If John and Edward do take the X Factor crown it’ll be a first win for a group. Louis Walsh put his protégés’ success down to their “likeability Factor”, saying: “Kids love these guys – everywhere I go they come up to me and tell me they think they’re great.
"They’re young, they’re fun and they have the likeability factor which is what this show is all about.”
Erm… isn’t it a singing contest, Louis?
As we reported last week, some people are even putting their hard earned pounds on John and Edward having a Christmas number one.
