Actress Zoe Lister who plays Zoe Carpenter in Hollyoaks has quit the soap.
The 27 year old has been in the show for three years and leaves in December.
She wants to try new avenues and told the Sun: "It's scary but also very, very exciting. You get to a point where you either make a decision that this is what you do or you try something different."
"When you're an actor you don't imagine yourself in the same job for years. So when you are in the same job for a few years you think 'hang on, what am I doing this for?'."
Zoe joins a long list of actors who have decided to move on the from the Chester soap, including Jamie Lomas (Warren Fox) Chris Fountain (Justin Burton), Gerald McCarthy (Kris Fisher).
At the moment her character student Zoe Carpenter is facing a huge dilemma. Her final piece was ruined by Archie when he spilt champagne over her laptop and lost all her work, so she stole a script from Mike who had written about how he almost put his daughter Sarah up for adoption.
Zoe made the film and it impressed her lecturer Adrian so much that he publicly screened it at the Student Union. Sarah saw the film and learned the truth about her background, but an angry Mike realised Zoe had plagiarised his work and threatened to tell her lecturer - risking her whole degree.
When Zoe owns up to Adrian that the work wasn't hers, he says she'll have to sleep with him in order to save her degree.
But will she?
